Overview

If Diskfern isn’t right for you, you can ask for a refund within 30 days of buying a Pro or Family license on diskfern.com. We review every request personally. When we approve one, the refund is made through Paddle, our reseller, to the payment method you used.

You don’t need to pay anything to try Diskfern: the Free plan lets you scan and explore your Mac for as long as you like, so you can be sure it suits you before you buy.

How to ask for a refund

  1. Sign in to your Diskfern account and open Orders.
  2. Choose Request a refund next to the order.
  3. If you like, tell us why. A reason is optional, but it helps us improve Diskfern.
  4. Submit the request. We’ll email you to confirm we received it.

You can also open Orders from the app: Diskfern › Settings › License › Request a Refund. You can withdraw your request from the same page at any time until the refund has been started.

The time limit

You can ask for a refund within 30 days of the moment your order was completed. Your account shows the exact last date for each order. Requests must be submitted before that time; the time it takes us to review a request doesn’t count against you.

What happens next

Your account shows the status of your request at every step:

Refund request received
We have your request and will review it.
We’re reviewing your request
Someone at Diskfern is looking at it.
Your refund request was approved
We’ve agreed to refund you and will start the refund with Paddle.
Your refund has been initiated
The refund has been started with Paddle and is being processed.
Refund completed
Paddle has confirmed the refund to your original payment method.
Refund request declined
We couldn’t approve the request. We’ll tell you why in your account and by email.
Refund request closed
You withdrew the request, or it was closed for another reason shown in your account.

A request shows Refund completed only after Paddle confirms the refund. Approval isn’t automatic: we may decline a request, for example if a license has been misused, and we will always explain why.

Receiving your refund

Paddle is the merchant of record for our orders, so refunds are paid by Paddle to the payment method you used. How long the money takes to reach you depends on your payment method and bank. Paddle sends you a confirmation when the refund is made.

We normally refund the full amount. If we agree a partial refund with you, we will explain beforehand what it means for your license.

Your license after a refund

After a full refund, the license is deactivated: Diskfern’s paid features stop on your Macs shortly after they next check in, and the license key can no longer be activated. Diskfern’s free features remain available.

After the time limit, or if you disagree

If the time limit has passed, or your request was declined and you’d like us to look again, email support@diskfern.com. Tell us your order details and what happened, and we will review your situation, for example if Diskfern has a problem we haven’t been able to fix. A declined request can’t be submitted again from your account.

Your legal rights

This policy adds to your rights under consumer law and never limits them.

  • In the UK, the European Union and some other countries, consumers usually have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content, this right can end once the download or use begins with your express consent.
  • If Diskfern is faulty or not as described, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement, a price reduction or a refund under consumer law, whenever you bought it.

Paddle’s refund policy and Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase.

Payment questions and disputes

For questions about a charge, a receipt or a payment you don’t recognise, you can contact Paddle at paddle.net. Please talk to us before disputing a payment with your bank: a dispute closes any open refund request while the bank reaches its decision.
